To get the most out of the cultivation of medicinal plants of the essential oil group of the Myata genus, use only varietal seedlings. The varieties obtained by selection are selected according to the main criterion: the content of essential oils. In different varieties, their ratio is somewhat different. To maximize the preservation of valuable properties, the best decision is to propagate not by seeds but by cuttings, which in the case of herbaceous plants looks like reproduction through the roots. However, the technologies do not stand still and today you can get sprouts of mint identical to the properties of a valuable parent plant, not through seeds.

Buy seedlings of Ukrainian peppermint is for the fact that with high quality of essential oil, they are resistant to adverse environmental factors and are very productive. Characteristic of the absence of pubescence of leaves and trunk, small flowers, but more luxurious inflorescences. The yield is 100-300 c/ha. Essential oil 3.34-3.65%. Drought tolerance makes this variety interesting for the climate of Ukraine. Suitable for machining. Areas of application: food, medicinal. It is recommended to grow in the Polesie area.
«Mama» is distinguished by greater growth than the above-described variety. Its erect, green, branched stems reach a height of 75 cm. They are devoid of fringes and anthocyanins. The leaves of «Mama» are wide-ovoid in shape. In an adult plant, the mass of leaves is 60% of its mass. The vegetation period is 93-101 days (the average maturity period). You can expect a yield of up to 22 quintals of leaves per hectare. If you decide to buy mint "Mama", then you can count on the content of essential oil in raw materials 3.72%, menthol in essential oil 76.7%. The registry has been in existence since 2001.
The intended direction for use: medicinal. Area of cultivation: forest-steppe.
It is also recommended for medicinal purposes and grows in the forest-steppe zone. After the variety testing, it is entered in the Register for 2017. The variety belongs to the late-ripening, blooming on 92-112 days after planting rhizomes.
The height of the stem is up to 80 cm, erect, undecided. The diameter of one plant during the growing season is up to 60 cm. Pre-emption up to 64% of the aboveground mass. The sort "Lydia" is characterized with powerful rhizomes, up to 60 cm long). Essential oil in raw materials is 3.54%, menthol in oil up to 59.1%. Another variety is interesting as medicinal and growing in the forest-steppe. Grading tests took place in 1985. Later maturation, mass flowering occurs on 102-133 days. The height of the Black-leaved peppermint reaches 70-117 cm. The stand-up, non-settling, diameter of the foliage during the vegetation up to 60 cm. 50% of the aboveground mass of the plant is foliage. Yields can be expected to be on the order of 20.5 kg/ha. Essential oil up to 2%.
Swan song is a hybrid of Watermint and spikelet. Long-term. The shrub can reach 80 cm. Egg-shaped leaves with a jagged edge, dark green coloration. If you buy peppermint varieties «Swan Song», you can expect essential oil in raw materials up to 4%. Menthol 40-64% in oil.
