Preparation of the sprayer for work

At the end of the working season you need to prepare the sprayer for winter storage. The approach of spring requires other actions from us - we will discuss in this article how to prepare the sprayer for work after the winter.

In order for all the work on fertilizing to be carried out in full and in a proper manner, the sprayer must be fully functional, all its components must work properly. Preparation of the sprayer for work is carried out in several stages.

The main setting is made at the beginning of the season. As required, an adjustment is made during the work.

Secure all knots removed for the winter and check all connections

The first step is to check that all components and assemblies are fully equipped. If the pump or some hoses for the winter have been removed, they are removed from storage and installed back. All mounts and connections must be checked for visible damage and defects.

The attachments of the undercarriage elements to the carrier frame must be checked. The sprayer filters must be checked, their patency is determined - it is possible that it is not suitable for the planned outflow rate. You should check the belt and chain transmissions, fill the gearbox oil with oil. All additionally installed mechanisms are processed in accordance with their instructions for use.

Checking the operation of all mechanisms

At the end of this stage, the sprayers rotating mechanisms must be rotated manually for testing. Then you can start the engine and, gradually increasing the speed, bring it to the working level. After a 10-minute run-in, the engine is stopped and repeated inspection is carried out. Identified problems eliminate.

When the mechanics are completely ready for work, proceed to check the working fluid supply system. Now you need to gulf tank with a certain amount of fluid, turn on the pump and check how long it will takes to become empty. If the estimated time and the real do not converge, then there is a failure to comply with the rate of outflow.

Evaluation of the working fluid supply system

An example of the selection of a set of dispensers for a particular rate of outflow is in the article «Choosing dispensers…». If at a speed of 10 km/h the rate of outflow is 250 l/ha, then each nozzle of 40 must have a permeability of 1.97 l/min. In this case, in three minutes the system will pour out 236 liters. If the result is very different from the calculated one, then you need to look for where the error is. It can be caused by problems with filters, sprays, tubes, a pump or incorrect spraying computer operation.

It is imperative to check that the entire working fluid supply system can operate at a pressure of from 1 to 7 bar. Further, the operation of all spray nozzles is checked, for which a measuring cup is placed under each of them for 1 minute. Sprays nozzles with a deviation of more than 10% should be replaced. For a more complete check, you need to use a special stand, which will show not only the volume of outflow per unit of time, but also the uniformity of the spraying cone.
